FUCK GM for getting rod of the barn doors! They’re awesome!
The 2-door full-
size Blazer is
cool tho
And we’re not getting the international Trailblazer, either. It’s a SUV based on the Colorado.

It’s too bad about the Trailblazer, really. It’s got to be a better SUV than the Traverse. They’re probably concerned about it eating into Tahoe sales though, which I’m guessing would cost about the same to build but they can sell for significantly more.

But have you ever owned a GM product? Hinges aren’t their strong suit.

I am not really a TRu uuGh sort of guy but those are on my shortlist if I ever decide to buy one.

The barn doors were the only ones that worked worth a shit on my GMT400. A set of bushings would last about 6 weeks in the front doors. So far the hinges don’t suck too bad on my GMT800.

My parents had a bunch of GM SUVs when I was little, but I don’t recall that.
Although every Silverado or Sierra from 2000-2006 is missing the tailgate latch

That’s pleasantly surprising. I never bothered replacing any hinge bushings on my Blazer, I got the impression it would be futile

Tailgate down + glass up>>>>lift gate with opening glass > lift gate> barn doors
I had a black ‘ 99 two door Tahoe Sport from 2003 to 2005 I bought with <50k miles in excellent condition. I wish I had a picture.
It was a looker and a great highway cruiser but as an outdoorsman’s rig it left a hell of a lot to be desired. That fact, and the realization that payments were stupid lead me to ditch it for a 5.9L Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The barn doors were prone to blowing shut on heads, hands and hams. They provide no shade or shelter, and make it impossible to carry long loads. I don’t miss them.
I do miss my captains chair and the 5.7l with dual exhaust sometimes.
